Solutions

It seems at the moment that there won't be solutions soon to solve the Syrian Civil War. If there will be, these are probably the best:
  • The United Nations should create a new peace plan to stop the fighting between the government and the opposition. If it is even too difficult to create a successful peace plan, then at least they have to try to get another ceasefire.
  • President Assad should abdicate. If he is willing to abdicate, the protesters will probably stop fighting as they have achieved their goal. The fighting will gradually decrease over time since the opposition have not a lot to fight for anymore and the Civil War will end.
If we could present 2 solutions, we would suggest:
  • Split up Syria in different territories. The main combatants get the power over each region and rule there without a lot of hassle from other regions about an unfair division of landmass and ruling governments. They are able to maintain their own political control in their own territory which will lead to less quarrels and protests which can eventually turn into civil wars.
  • The Western powers should be more involved in the conflict. They could send more military force, but also talk to each other and come up with a good strategy to stop the conflict all together. The West has a lot of influential power, so lets use it.
Although these are a couple of solutions, many of them won't work or will never be accepted. The peace talks is a quite good solution, but it has been tried before and has failed completely. Also, president Assad is completely not willing to abdicate. It seems like the conflict will go on with Assad as leader up to the point he dies. He won't give in his position until his death.
 
The most successful solutions might in the end be the territorial split-up and the West being more involved. The split-up can work, but it will take a long time and a lot of effort to make this happen. The Western countries have to devide themselves if they want to be involved in the conflict, and if they want to, they will probably make a big difference since they have a lot of power, which can influence the whole situation.
